Answers to your important questions about the Follesa Emergency Radios
Can I use the radio when the battery is flat?
Yes, absolutely. The emergency radio is specially designed to keep functioning even without a charged battery. Thanks to the built-in hand crank, you can manually generate power when there is no electricity available. Additionally, the integrated solar panel can charge the radio using sunlight, which offers extra peace of mind during power outages, camping trips or emergency situations.
Even when the battery is completely dead, you can generate enough energy to temporarily use the radio, flashlight or SOS function with just a few minutes of cranking. This way, you will always have access to important news, emergency alerts and lighting exactly when you need it most.
How bright is the built-in flashlight?
The radio features a powerful, energy-efficient LED flashlight designed for use in emergency situations and daily use. The lighting offers multiple light settings so you always have the right amount of light for different conditions.
You can use the flashlight for:
Lighting dark spaces during power outages
Reading maps, instructions or documents
Camping, hiking or outdoor activities
Sending an emergency signal in dangerous situations
General emergency lighting at home or on the go
LED technology delivers bright light with low energy consumption, meaning the battery lasts longer. This makes the radio especially reliable when power is scarce.
Can I charge my phone with it?
Yes. The Follesa DAB+ 373 BT emergency radio also functions as a power bank. Via the built-in USB connection you can easily charge your smartphone or other small devices when there is no power outlet available.
This is especially useful during:
Power outages
Emergency situations
Camping trips
Travel
Outdoor activities
Thanks to the various charging options such as: USB, solar energy and the hand strap you can keep generating power on the go too. This way you can maintain longer access to important communication, navigation and emergency contacts via your phone.
How should I store the radio when I am not using it?
To keep the battery and performance of the emergency radio in optimal condition, we recommend the following:
Fully charge the radio at least every 2 months
Also when you are not using the radio. This helps prevent battery degradation and extends the battery's lifespan.
Fully turn off the radio
Do not leave the radio in standby mode when storing it.
The radio is fully off when you see "Goodbye" or "Tot ziens" appear on the screen. This is because the radio will slowly consume power while in standby mode.
Store at room temperature
Preferably store the radio in a dry place at normal room temperature.
Use the solar panel for supplementary charging
The solar panel is intended for slow supplementary battery charging and backup, not for fully charging the radio.
Inspect the radio periodically
When the radio is not used for an extended period, we recommend checking the battery level occasionally and testing the radio briefly.
Preferably do not use a fast charger
We recommend using a standard 5V adapter instead of a fast charger. Fast chargers can deliver higher voltage or current, which can affect the battery's lifespan and performance over time. A standard adapter charges the radio more safely and stably.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, the Solar Survival Radio comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty. This covers all manufacturing defects and flaws in materials and workmanship. Additionally, we offer a 30-day return policy so you can test the product without any worries. If you are not fully satisfied, you can return it within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. You can always contact us with any questions about the warranty or returns.
